Human beings are natural travelers. One of the theories of the origin of mankind tells us that Homo erectus, a precursor species to the modern man, originated from Africa 2.5 million years ago. From there, these pre-humans moved out of Africa and migrated all the world, giving rise to the different races that we now have today. The purpose of these early migrations may be different (it could be that they migrated in order to look for more resources), but the point is that it is already inherent for human beings to travel.

With the cost of traveling going down because of technological advancement, it has now become easier for everyone to travel, and this is somethng that I have personally witnessed. More budget airlines are coming out into the market, introducing unbelievable discounts that rock the competition. Friends and I would normally wait for these bargain sales and grab tickets as soon as we find something we would like to avail.

Then when we don't have to ride an airplane, there are places that we can reach via bus or via car. It takes a longer time, but this mode of transportation is even cheaper for people to avail. Add to this the general lesson that a lot of people in Generation Y adhere to: we only live our lives once, so we better make the most out of it. This world view pushes people to travel as a hobby and see what more the world has to offer.

Perhaps you are thinking of having the same hobby as well. I am telling you--go ahead and travel. There's so much to be seen, to be experienced, and to be felt. Traveling allows us to expose ourselves to varying world views and the diversity of people that live beyond the boundaries of our own communities. If you are traveling for natural wonders, then feast your eyes on the great natural formations that can be seen almost everywhere.

The possibilities for traveling are endless. It is these infinite opportunities that make traveling an attractive hobby to pursue. So what are you waiting for? Get that backpack, ride a plane, and off you travel!
